A NINE-goal third quarter kicked Rupertswood to victory against Hampton Rovers for a win that keeps the eighth-placed team on the coat-tails of the VAFA Premier C finals race.
Rupo shrugged the winless last-placed team with the third-quarter blitz on the way to winning 17.11 (113) to 10.11 (71).
The win keeps Rupertswood (6-6) within six premiership points of fourth-placed Old Camberwell (7-1-4) albeit with Rupo having the worst percentage of any of the teams chasing fourth.
Monash Blues (1-11) are one loss away from relegation and Hampton Rovers (0-12) were mathematically relegated by the weekend defeat.
Rupertswood led by two goals at quarter-time but Hampton fought back to trail 34-37 at the long break.
Rupertswood then unleashed 9.6 in the third quarter to Hampton's 2.3 to open a 48-point lead at the last change.
