Surprise loss for Sunbury United Tigers

20 Jul, 2010 01:00 AM
SUNBURY United Tigers' standing as top team in Victorian Rugby League first grade was not dented in spite of a surprise 10-point loss to Altona Roosters at the weekend.

The Tigers, leading 18-12 at half-time, were overrun in the second half, the Roosters winning 34-24.

Sunbury United's Phil Boyd said his team had struggled in the second half handling a slippery ball in what was an out-of-character performance.

Stacey Everitt was the Tigers' best, while Francis Tuiletufuga was its most prolific point scorer. The Tigers have a bye this weekend before matches against Waverley Oakleigh and Casey to finish the home-and-away season.
