LANCEFIELD may have ended Melton Centrals' winning streak in Riddell District Netball League but Macedon brought the Tigers back to earth with a thud at the weekend.
The Cats won 59-32 off the back of 45 Melissa Climas goals to guarantee third place on the ladder and leave Lancefield finishing fourth at best.
In other results, Diggers Rest kept its finals hopes alive by beating Kilmore 33-16, Sunbury Kangaroos downed Woodend-Hesket 45-13, Melton Centrals beat Wallan 32-23, Riddell defeated Broadford 48-28 and Romsey defeated Rockbank.
Melton Centrals, Romsey, Macedon, Lancefield and Riddell are all assured of finals action, but sixth-placed Wallan (10 wins, seven losses) can still be overtaken by Diggers Rest (9-8) but only if Wallan loses to Romsey by enough for a Diggers Rest win against Lancefield to bridge a percentage gap of more than 28 points.
