RDFL: Around the grounds - see picture gallery

Sunbury Kangaroos 17.11 (113) d Melton Centrals 6.4 (40)

The Kangaroos faced few problems against Melton Centrals after a five-goal-to-one opening term set them on course for victory.

Chris Meacham's bag of five goals moved the Sunbury spearhead to 39 for the season, third best in the league behind Riddell's Michael Allen on 41 and Kilmore's Aaron James on 70.

Adam Fenton bagged four goals for the Kangaroos while Ryan Hatty, Simon Clark and Matt Welsh were its best.

Romsey 11.9 (75) d Woodend-Hesket 10.6 (66)

Romsey's comeback form a zero-and-five start to the season continued with a fourth straight win after coming from behind at three-quarter-time against the Hawks.

Woodend-Hesket led by three points at the last change but kicked one goal in the final term to Romsey's three.

Adam Kearney kicked three goals for the Redbacks while fellow three-goal kicker Dean Smith-Whiting was best along with Ashley McNaughton and Andrew Pendlebury.

Daniel Martin and James Hepburn were the Hawks' best while Ross Waters bagged five majors.

Riddell 18.10 (118) d Broadford 8.4 (52)

Riddell proved far too strong for Broadford after an arm-wrestle first half as it kicked 11 goals to three after the long break.

Michael Allen kicked six and Haydn Ross four for the Bombers while other strong contributors for the mid-season ladder leaders were Murray McDougall and Darcy Grant.

Diggers Rest 10.10 (70) d Rockbank 3.4(22)

The Burras choked the life and scoring power out of Rockbank and sealed victory with four final-quarter goals. Dylan Kight kicked three majors for Diggers Rest while Craig Marshall and Daniel Reilly were leading players.

Wallan 6.6 (42) lt Macedon 13.12 (90)

Macedon will occupy sixth spot through the bye week after powering away from Wallan in the final term. The Cats kicked five last-quarter goals to Wallan's one to make safe the victory. Macedon had five multiple goalkickers, led by Dylan Wright's three.

Sunday at Buckley Park, Essendon. RDJFL under-13s v Essendon District Football League 10am, under-12s v Western Region Football League 10am, under-13s v WRFL 11.40am, under-12s v EDFL 1.20pm.

Monday: Under-14s away at Moorabbin Saints, noon, under-15s home at Boardman Reserve, Sunbury v Eastern Football League 2pm.
