FORMER Lancefield footballer Myles Dorman continues to impress on the field as he chases his AFL dream.
Dorman received offers from three VFL sides after being a star performer in Lancefield's premiership team last year.
Werribee, Box Hill and the Northern Bullants were all keen for the star to join them in the preseason.
"After speaking to James House, I decided to choose the Northern Bullants as they have really good facilities," Dorman said.
Now halfway through his first season with the Bullants, Dorman said it had been a big change from playing in the Riddell District Football League.
"It has been really good, but really different from what I have been used to.
"The training load is a lot heavier and I've had to do a lot more running.
"It took a while to adjust to the changes, but I've settled in now."
Dorman is playing in the reserves side and is hoping to line up with the seniors in the second half of the season.
"I started the season well, before a few niggles meant I dropped off a bit.
"I'm over them now and I'm starting to play some good football again.
"As for seniors, the coach says I'm capable of playing - that's the aim for the rest of the season."
Dorman has played 10 games this season and kicked 18 goals.
He said the Bullants' links with AFL club Carlton was also helping his onfield progression.
"We train with them on Fridays and they are really good to learn from.
"We have attended functions with them and the VFL and AFL boys do dinner regularly.
"Last week, there was five Carlton boys in the reserves side, so we have a bit to do with them."
While Dorman is trying to break into the senior team this season, he is also keen to help the reserves get a couple of wins.
"We didn't gel early in the season, which meant we didn't play as a team. Hopefully, we are on track now."
