ANY momentum gained from Gisborne's first win of the Bendigo Football League season was snuffed by a 140-point defeat to Golden Square at the weekend.
Golden Square kicked 3.10 in the opening term to lead by just 16 points but straightened up to kick away 23.26(164) to Gisborne's 3.6 (24).
Dylan McFarlane kicked two goals while Josh Di Camillo and Heath Levis were better Bulldog players on an otherwise forgettable day.
Kyneton's Bendigo League fortunes are no better after it lost 15.3 (93) to 20.19 (139) against Sandhurst. James Condos returned to the Tigers line-up with five goals, while Robert Trajkovski and Liam Turner were Kyneton's best.
The game was a see-sawing affair with Kyneton kicking 10 goals in the second term to turn a six-goal quarter-time deficit into a five-point half-time lead.
But Kyneton's second crack to the scoring end in the final quarter didn't come off, with Sandhurst outscoring it five goals to four.
Gisborne hosts Strathfieldsaye on Saturday at Gardiner Reserve, while Kyneton is also at home at the Showgrounds against Golden Square.
