Kyneton remains ninth on the ladder with one win for the season after losing a shoot-out by 12 points to Strathfieldsaye.
Bags of seven goals to James Condos and Ray Harrison helped Kyneton to 18.14 (122), but it wasn't enough to catch the Storm's 20.14 (134).
Gisborne is one position further up the table on two wins after its 19.13 (127) to 15.17 (107) loss to Maryborough.
Maryborough kicked six goals to one in the opening term to set it on course for victory.
Bendigo Football League action takes a break this weekend for the interleague game against Gippsland Football League.
The match, starting at 5.30pm Saturday, is at Queen Elizabeth Oval in Bendigo.
Kyneton's James Condos, Dale Cuinik, Rob Trajkovski and Liam Turner are in the Bendigo league squad, as are Gisborne's Ollie Messaoudi, Shaun Comerford, Luke Saunders and Casey Summerfield.

Rupo is up to fourth on the ladder with three wins and two losses after the 13.12(90) to 10.18 (78) victory.
