IT'S do or die for the Romsey Redbacks this weekend - a win over Macedon will ensure its place in the Gisborne and District Cricket Association's McIntyre Cup finals, while a loss means it will miss out for the third season in a row.
The Redbacks occupy fourth but are followed closely by Rupertswood and Riddell, which sit only three points behind.
Captain Matthew Cox said the side would have to produce a solid team performance in a "dangerous game".
"They [Macedon] have nothing to lose and I'm sure they'll want to finish off their season with a win so it could be a difficult game for us.
"We need a good team performance this week which has been lacking in our last few matches and they have some really good hitters in their side, so we will have to be at our best.
"Our top five batsmen haven't all contributed so now is the time to turn it around and play as a team."
Cox expects some of his key players to step up and lead the side to victory. He hopes Jason Lock can build on last week's performance where he hit 100 with the bat and picked up four wickets.
"Jason Lock had a fantastic game last week and hopefully he can do it again for us this weekend and help us get across the line," Cox said.
"Michael Richardson will be back in the side and he'll give us some variation as he's an off-spinner.
"But it will all come down to whether or not we can play as a team and we can't afford to put a foot wrong."
Rupertswood and Riddell will be looking to take advantage of a potential Romsey slip-up and both will give their all in what will likely be a heated affair.
Riddell may be at a slight advantage in the match considering it will be played on its home turf, but Rupertswood is a side which possesses many weapons and will look to sneak into the four.
