MOLLY Greetham towers above the average 13-year-old girl and it was no surprise the Braemar College student excelled at the under-16 Australian junior basketball championships.
Standing at 185centimetres, Greetham was critical under the ring as Victoria Country's under-16 girls finished fourth at the tournament in Logan, Queensland, from July 3-10.
Greetham's performances for Braemar College and the Bendigo Braves won her a spot for a training camp with 109 other players. Successful at a four-day camp in Ballarat, Greetham went from the final 30 to the state squad of 10 for the under-16 team.
Modelling her game on her hero Lauren Jackson, Greetham played centre for Victoria Country at the championships.
"The best experience was the first time I got out on court, to play the first few minutes of the game.
"I also play tall [centre] at club and school level and I do see myself having to adjust my game in the future to a new role, possibly that of a floor player."
Greetham will be looking to work on her dribbling and shooting skills and is now aiming to go to an all-country championships in Albury as well as under-16 selection for Victoria again next year.
