A CHARITY and awareness day for the Oscar's Law campaign will be held at a Malmsbury garden estate.
The campaign by animal activist Debra Tranter is aimed at shutting puppy farms.
It's named after a toy-poodle-cross that was rescued by Ms Tranter from a puppy factory in the Macedon Ranges.
Ms Tranter will attend Sunday's charity day at which there will also be representatives from Kyneton's Stafford Rescue and Woodend's Pets Haven.
"The awareness is very important and I truly believe the power is in the hands of the consumer," Ms Tranter said.
"I believe in raising the public awareness and reaching out to the community and letting it know about the campaign."
Bleak House Gardens will host the event. Owner Pamela Reinalda says gate takings and raffle money will be donated.
"We offered to do this because we adore animals and Debra and the other ladies [from Stafford Rescue and Pets Haven] are heroes to abused dogs out there," she said.
"Without these animal shelters, these poor, abused babies would be sent off somewhere else and not treated humanely. The work of these shelters is amazing."
At the charity day, there will be live music in the gardens, food stalls, Devonshire teas, face painting and balloon art.
