Macedon Ranges Council officially opened its operational centre in Woodend last week.

The centre on Old Lancefield Road will house 62 staff including those responsible for road maintenance, drainage works, road construction, parks and gardens, waste management, saleyards and plant/equipment maintenance. It will include administrative offices, multi-purpose meeting and training rooms, storage offices, workshops, sheds, a heated premix bin, fuel storage, wash bay and staff car parking. The purpose-built centre replaces the existing Woodend depot buildings. Chief executive Peter Johnston (left), Cr Henryka Benson, Mayor John Letchford and Cr Roger Jukes were among the first to check out the buildings.
