Man burnt fighting house fire

06 Dec, 2011 12:00 AM
A HOME owner used buckets of water to try to put out a fire in his lounge room about 10.40pm on November 24.

A smoke alarm in the Cahill Street, Bulla, house alerted the man.

A passing couple began walking a kilometre to the nearest house to raise the alarm but an off-duty police officer who was driving past called the brigade.

The house owner suffered moderate burns and was taken by ambulance to St Vincent's Hospital.
