Macedon Ranges keeps its staff valuers

31 Aug, 2010 12:00 AM
MACEDON Ranges Council will continue to evaluate properties in the shire using its in-house valuation team.

At last week's meeting, councillors supported a move to advise the Valuer-General that it will continue to undertake the general valuations.

Amendments to legislation that came into effect on May 1 allow councils to transfer the responsibility for valuations to the Valuer-General.

In 2001, the council decided to create an in-house valuation team, which has been doing all valuations.

Valuations are biennial and the next will take effect on July 1, 2012.
