THE Melbourne Food and Wine Festival will hit the Macedon Ranges with two events planned this month.
The Macedon Ranges Vignerons Association has organised a picnic at Hanging Rock this Sunday.
The inaugural event is a celebration of family, food and wine.
Highlights include musical entertainment, a chance to sip regional wines and feast on a hamper of local produce prepared by Tonia Todman.
Adult picnic hampers, which include admission, entertainment, food, voucher for a bottle of regional wine and entertainment, are available for $95 and children's hampers for $35.
The wine and equine worlds will come together at a gala dinner event called 'The Night Sparkles'. It is at premier thoroughbred stud Eliza Park in Kerrie on March 20.
Also run by the Vignerons Association, the dinner will be a black-tie affair. It will be set in the stallion barn and aimed at showcasing the diverse range of wines produced in the shire.
The dinner will have a degustation menu produced by chef Andrew Blake and elite Macedon Ranges winemakers, including Gordon Cope-Williams, John Ellis and Llew Knight. Tickets are $165.
The events are among more than 70 across regional Victoria.
