SPRING will be in the air at the Macedon Ranges Potters exhibition next month.
Themed Spring Into Spring, the exhibition will feature a diverse range of sculptural and functional pieces from about 12 group members.
President Patricia Beasley said the potters had tried to make their pieces reflective of the spring theme.
"Spring in the Macedon Ranges is a stunning vista of flora in heritage gardens on the mount and the group is hoping to capture the essence of this season with a display of work produced in terracotta, stoneware and porcelain clay," she said.
"There will be a large range of work from fine porcelain to sculptural."
Ms Beasley fell in love with pottery about 20 years ago.
"I actually became interested because my children were learning it at secondary college and bringing the work home. I thought it would be something I'd like to work on myself and have been doing it ever since. "I like working on the wheel and the way the clay forms on the wheel. I also enjoy the chemical formulas of the different glazes."
Ms Beasley will exhibit a collection of about 12 pieces that includes dry copper glazed vases and pillow pots, which are double-walled pots that can hold candles.
The exhibition will be held at The Gallery, 684 Mt Macedon Road, Macedon, during September. An official opening will be at 2pm on September 5.
