Chip in for a day of spud fun

24 Nov, 2009 03:00 AM
A SPECIAL variety of spuds is being bred in Gordon for the Spudfest - a community event at the Recreation Reserve in the town this Sunday.

It will be all about the spuds at the festival with potato peeling competitions, spud and spoon races and spud golf. A mini-circus will be performing, a tarot card reader will predict the success of future spud crops and there will be four-wheel motor bike rides.

There will also be spud-based food, including shepherd's pie, scalloped potatoes and roasted spuds.

Spudfest: November 29 at the Recreation Reserve in Gordon between 11am and 4pm. Entry is a gold coin donation or $5 for a family.
