Bowled over by great food

10 Aug, 2010 01:00 AM
RUPERTSWOOD Mansion owner Margaret McLelland is putting the historic attraction on the international map with the release of her cricket-theme cookbook.

"Rupertswood is as much about glorious food as it is about cricket," Ms McLelland said.

The book, Scrumptious, has a cricketing name for each section.

"It's got some magnificent photography of Rupertswood and a bit of a cricket theme."

A picnic is named 'out' for a duck, the middle order is the main course, something sweet is tailenders, breakfast is the opening batsman, sauces and jams are top spin and it ends with cocktails on the crease.

"I've really been wanting to put Rupertswood on the map internationally and I thought this was a great way to do it. It [the book] is for sale in the UK and New Zealand [as well as Australia] ... and hopefully in the Indian market, all cricketing countries."

Scrumptious is available at the mansion and Collins Booksellers and Target in Sunbury.
