Author's visit thrills readers

26 May, 2009 04:00 AM
VICTORIAN Premier's Reading Challenge ambassador and author Andy Griffiths visited Sunbury West Primary School last Wednesday as part of a drive to encourage children to read books.

The author shared his thoughts about the imaginative world of writing and his experiences of publishing 10 children's books with 130 pupils from grade 3 and 4.

Griffiths' books have sold over four million copies worldwide.

They have featured on The New York Times bestseller lists and have won more than 40 Australian children's choice awards.

The challenge involves students from prep to year 10 and aims to promote a love of reading by getting students to read a certain number of books before August 31.
